Evelyn Russo, MS, OTR/L

Upper East Side - 3rd Ave

Evelyn earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from New York University. There, she was involved in research that examined different coping strategies utilized by individuals with and without acquired brain injuries during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her research was presented at the American Occupational Therapy Association’s (AOTA) Annual Inspire Conference. Prior to attending NYU, Evelyn attended Saint Joseph’s University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Services with minors in Health Care Ethics and Autism Behavioral Studies.

During her clinical rotations, Evelyn gained experience treating patients with upper extremity impairments, strokes, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries, as well as pediatric patients with, cognitive, sensory, psychosocial, and fine motor deficits. Evelyn also worked alongside individuals with disabilities who have experienced domestic violence to regain their independence through approaches such as medication management, stress/anxiety management, and energy conservation strategies. Evelyn was drawn to the field of Occupational Therapy because she believes that all people, no matter their backgrounds, should be able to engage in activities that are meaningful to them.

Evelyn loves spending time with family and friends, going for walks around the city, finding new places to eat, reading, and traveling! Evelyn loves exploring what different cities/ towns have to offer, whether they be big or small. Fun fact, Evelyn worked on her aunt and uncle’s farm in England for 3 months where she took care of donkeys, sheep, chickens, and bees!
