Physical Therapist - PT, DPT

Melanie Kleiner, PT, DPT

Chelsea -16th St

Melanie earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY. Before pursuing a career in physical therapy, she completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics at the University of Miami, where she also competed on the Division I Women’s Varsity golf team. An injury ended her athletic career prematurely, leading Melanie to shift her focus to physical therapy and personal training. She is now a certified personal trainer and Russian Kettlebell Certified instructor. To stay current with evidence-based practices and strength and conditioning principles, she has completed numerous continuing education courses.

During her clinical rotations, Melanie treated a variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions. She applied her strength and conditioning expertise and personal experience with injury to deliver individualized, compassionate, and holistic care. Melanie prioritizes communication and trust between patient and provider to ensure successful outcomes. Her therapeutic approach includes manual therapy, strength training, and breathwork to restore range of motion, regulate the nervous system, and alleviate pain. Melanie has a special interest in treating those managing chronic pain as well as golfers and rotational athletes.

When not in the gym, Melanie enjoys exploring New York’s art and culinary scenes and returning to upstate New York for camping and hiking. Having a father as a golf professional, she also appreciates spending time outside with her family over a round of golf.
