Rujuta started training at the age of 6 and went on to become a state level sprint runner in India which led her to procure a bachelor’s degree in Physical therapy from K.J. Somaiya Medical College in Mumbai, India. Rujuta came to the US to pursue her master’s degree in Orthopedics from the University of Indianapolis followed by a DPT from Touro College, NYC. Rujuta’s  desire is to become a well-rounded professional. It prompted her to complete her  MBA with a Dean’s merit scholarship from Temple University.

She has diverse experience from working in India,  Kings County hospital in Brooklyn and an Orthopedic surgeon owned practice. She incorporates and encourages evidence-based practices. Her  doctoral capstone “Application of the Evidence-Based Practice Model by Physical Therapy Clinical Practitioners” was published in the Journal of Allied Health in 2019. She used Mulligan’s and Maitland’s mobilization techniques to treat restricted joints. She is also working on obtaining the McKenzie certification from McKenzie Institute, USA.

Rujuta believes in having a healthy mind and body to permeate health and wellness into her patients. She is an ardent Iyengar Yoga practitioner and spends time doing Pilates and gym training. She completed a study showing the difference in breath holding time in Pranayama practitioners vs normal population during her bachelors. She is also the recipient of the best speaker’s award at Toastmasters.

Outside of work she loves to run by the waterfront, write poems, play the harmonium, draw henna tattoos, read, paint, and cook. Her faith in the almighty helps her empathize with my patients and is the driving force behind my work ethic.
